Prayer

Brad and Bryan's grandpa Crandall is being admitted to the hospital and they are doing some testing b/c he has been having severe abdominal pain. He has pancreatic cancer and has been battling with it for awhile but, the doctors aren't sure what is causing the pain. If you get a chance, please pray for him and our family.

Sunday August 24th

Today we discussed the intro to lesson #8 and we hope to finish lesson #8 next week. There were quite a few other things that we discussed including the euchre night, nominations for church boards, witness mintute for October and also the next set of lessons on financial peace.

Prayer Request

Please pray for my cousin's (Mike Wise) fiance. She is currently in intensive care and experiencing problems with her brain. My aunt asked for prayers during this time. Thank you.

Andy and Claire's Cookout

Andy and Claire are hosting a cookout after church on Sunday for their College class and our class is invited too. They are located on the corner of Broad and Silver St. (Broad St. park is their backyard). Claire asked that I pass on the info!

Prayer request-Steve Kandel Family

Hi

I just got word last night that Steve Kandel's mother passed away yesterday. I do not know if she has been ill , but do know that she went into the hospital Monday because she was having a hard time breathing.

I do not know when services or calling hours are. I heard that information will be in the paper tomorrow.

I will go ahead and send a card from our class tonight. Please keep them in your prayers. His mother was really good to Steve and Melissa and the grand kids. I know that Courtney is having a hard time with it.

Prayer Request from Church Office

Dear Friends,

Just want to ask for your prayers for Evelyn Bardash. She fell yesterday and had to have 29 stitches. (Don’t know where the stitches are – God does)

Friends,
Not God, (He knows though) but the stitches are in her forehead, along with a couple of black eyes and major bruises, but no severe pain.
Evelyn doesn't seem to have memory of the trauma.
Denise mentioned that prayers for steadiness and God's help from another fall would be much appreciated.

Today we discussed Lesson #7 on the "new birth". Next week we will start into lesson #8. I am pretty sure that we will be starting into the financial peace study the first Sunday in September.

First Annual Euchre Tournament & Chili Cook-off
Sponsored by The Great Expectations Class

When: Saturday, September 27, 2008
Where: Fellowship Hall
Time: 5:30 – Chili Cook-off / 6:00 – Euchre Tournament
Why: To raise money for the Talent Quest & to have a fun night out
Details:
Ø Singles & Teams are both welcome for the Euchre Tournament
Ø Free babysitting is available with dinner provided for the kids!
Ø Bring your favorite pot of chili to enter the chili cook-off (optional)
Ø Come hungry! There will be lots of chili, snacks, drinks, and dessert
Ø Prizes awarded for Euchre and Chili Cook-off winners
Ø Tickets are $5/person & can be purchased after church beginning Sept. 7th
