Sunday July 20th

There weren't too many of us in attendance this week (many were serving in various teaching positions in the church) but we went ahead with some planning for the Euchre/ Chili cook-off and also discussed the sermon section of lesson 6. I believe we are going to wrap up lesson 6 next week and possibly begin lesson 7.

prayer request

I would like to add a prayer request to our class list for a young lady named Faith. She is a sister of one of my co-workers who is having twins and is currently on bed rest since this past weekend. She is on medication to stop the contractions. She is only 31 weeks today (Wednesday July 8). They would like her to make it to 33-34 week before she has the boys.

Her sister's name is Amber.

Thanks Lynne

Prayer Request from Church Office

Dear Friends,

I am sending this Prayer Request because we have been asked to start the Prayer Chain and at this time we do not have an official church prayer chain. If you cannot participate at this time that is okay – just delete.

The request is from Gary Quinn and is for Jay Howell. He is a young man who works with Gary and just had a stroke.

Thank you so much and God Bless you,

Linda [Mayes]

(Krystal - It looks like the invitations worked well. Thanks)

We finished up lesson 5 and started lesson 6 on Justification. We'll discuss the questions and the sermon on Sunday. Also, we talked at the beginning about the Sunday School series called Financial Peace University and everyone seemed to support getting involved with that. Here is a little description. The program is called Financial Peace University (http://www.daveramsey.com/fpu/home/) and sounds like a "Money Matters" type of program - Christian based, financially focused. We'll figure out how to pay for it when we get some more information on it. I'll also try to talk to Rev. Larry about sponsoring him in his bike trip from DC to Pittsburgh.
